For this smoothie, I have got inspired by nature. We had such a beautiful Indian Summer here in Zürich that I wanted to have a smoothie, looking that golden as well. I am using turmeric in order to get the wonderful golden simmer. However turmeric is not only great for adding a nice color – in fact, turmeric is our best partner for the cold season because it provides us exactly with everything we so urgently need now:
- It has an antibacterial and antiseptic effect and thus has a preventive or curative effect against colds
- It has a strong antioxidant effect, i. e. it protects the cells from being destroyed by free radicals
- It supports digestion and helps with hangover
So feel free to add as much turmeric as you want to your smoothie.
Ingredients for the golden smoothie:
- Half of a Mango (you can also use frozen ones)
- 250ml Almond Milk
- a piece of Turmeric (as much as you like)
- a piece of Ginger (as much as you like)
- 1 Tablespoon Maple Syrup
- 1 Tablespoon protein powder
- Pinch of black pepper
Blend all ingredients together in your mixer – Enjoy and stay healthy!
